New Horizon has been continuing its commitment to sustainability in an exciting way. In 2018, we launched an initiative called ‘Bags Not’ where our students engaged in an eco-bag-making afternoon. We extended our commitment to sustainability further this year by introducing our homestays to an informative evening about our tree-planting connection to Fresh Air Forests, composting, and Bags Not.
Many students came along and demonstrated a high level of interest and participation. Some of the students’ bags were taken to places such as the Citizens’ Advice Bureau to spread awareness.
Connections with the quilting community resulted in a huge amount of calico fabric being donated to further the initiative.
We at New Horizon look forward to continuing community engagement and extending the sustainability message as far as we can.
