Our students attended an end-of-year-party with students from the Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) Polytechnic, at the filter room restaurant. The students had a great time, being welcomed with plenty of delicious food, and making friends with each other. The afternoon was made available through funding that Learning Hawke’s Bay sourced through Ministry of Education’s International Student Wellbeing fund. Although we didn’t come first in the quiz (or second or third) we had a lot of fun trying and taking part in a lot of different activities. Staff members Jane and Casey attended and enjoyed networking with the EIT staff. It highlighted the need for more inter-school get-togethers, which we will support and promote next year.
